Privacy & data ownership
Who owns the data I put in CareSync?
You do. Everything you put in — family member profiles, medications, appointments, documents, care notes — is stored in a Postgres database under your account. You can read it back, export it via the Snapshot share link, and remove it on your own terms. CareSync doesn't claim any rights to your family's information beyond what's needed to run the service.
Do you sell or share my family's health data?
No. We don't sell it, we don't share it with advertisers, we don't bundle it for third-party analytics. The people in your care circle can see what you post inside that circle. Stripe sees your billing details (and only your billing details) when you upgrade to Pro. That's the whole list.
Who can see what I post
Can the people I invite see everything?
They see what you've actually shared inside the circle — medications, appointments, documents, and care notes on the shared feed. Each person gets the same view of the circle's records; there's no per-member tier of access. Things you haven't added to the app, you haven't shared.
Can someone I invited share it further?
Invites are per-person. The family member you invited sees the circle; they can't forward the invite onward or pull a stranger in. Document share links can be revoked from Settings, and the documents vault keeps an audit trail of every time a share link is opened.
Free vs Pro
What does Free actually include?
Free covers the basics: your own care profile, unlimited family members, medications, appointments, the documents vault, the calendar, reminders, and the Snapshot share link. For one caregiver organizing a family, that's usually enough.
What does Pro add, and do I need it?
Pro adds the 💬 Notes feed compose (so you and the rest of your circle can leave care messages for each other), multi-circle collaboration (when a sibling or a second parent keeps their own circle but you all overlap), and priority support. You probably don't need Pro on day one. The clearest signal is when you've invited the third sibling and people are starting to ask who can post.
Invites
How do I invite a sibling or my other parent?
From the app, open Settings → Care Circle, enter their email, and send the invite. They get a link, make a CareSync account, click accept, and they're in — same calendar, same medication list, same notes feed. No separate login, no app to install: an email link is enough.
What happens if they already have a CareSync account?
Accepting your invite lands them in your circle. Their existing data stays intact on their side — medications, family members, their own circle — because each family member is a separate account. You're sharing forward, not merging.
Account deletion
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete account, confirm, and the account goes. Your login, billing, and any rows tied directly to your profile are removed. Done from the dashboard; no email ticket required.
What happens to my family's data after I delete?
Circle members lose access to the circle you owned. Their own accounts and their own data remain untouched — they're still CareSync customers with everything they had before. If someone else in the circle wants to keep the family records going, they can spin up their own account and start fresh; the data from your circle doesn't transfer.
